USHL DRAFTS NORTH PARK ALUM

Congratulations to Aidan Pasic (2007) on his recent draft selection by the Muskegon Lumberjacks of the USHL, the top "junior" ice hockey league sanctioned by USA Hockey.  The 6'1" 165 lb forward played the first eight seasons of his youth hockey career with North Park prior to moving to the Tier I AAA level in addition to competing for the Delbarton School.

As leading scorer, Pasic anchored the talent-heavy 2007 birth year, which went on to win 3 HVHL Championships, including North Park's first-ever HVHL title in 2017. This group also qualified as the top seed for the 2020 Tier III NYS Championship in Buffalo, a tournament canceled due to COVID-19. 

Pasic was also celebrated as a 2019-'20 Tom Hynes Award winner. Best of luck on your hockey journey!

10U Squirt White Wins 2024 Liberty Cup Spring Classic

North Park's 10U Squirt White are the champions at this year's Liberty Cup Spring Classic tournament in Pennsylvania. The Squirt White team led by coaches Clayton Lewis, Mike Elitt, and Landon Nordeman had a strong showing, winning 4 out of 5 games.

The Squirt White team's perseverance and dedication shone through as they triumphed over the New York City Skyliners, clinching the championship with a 5-3 score!

Rise to Victory: North Park Peewee Green 2011 Claims 2024 EJEPL League Title. Guided by coaches Martin Cejka, Bryan Ramm, and Greg Morris, the team achieved a remarkable 15-0-1 EJEPL season record.

After navigating through a hard-fought semifinals clash against the LI Enforcers, they surged forward with determination to face the Central Penn Panthers in the championship battle. With nerves of steel, they emerged triumphant with a 3-1 victory, clinching the coveted championship.

Each period was a test of resilience, but North Park's tenacity prevailed, solidifying their status as champions. What an incredible journey, what a triumph!

We had an exciting MLK tournament weekend with our teams competing all over the country including Detroit MI, Boston MA, Providence RI, Philadelphia PA, Baltimore MD, Washington DC, Charleston SC and Tampa Bay FL. We had impressive showings across the program, and now our coaches will continue to work on finishing Player Evaluations. There is a lot to be proud of.

We also look forward to the upcoming merger + incorporation of the City Ice hockey programs within North Park. Starting with the 2024-’25 season, North Park will be in position to extend our full menu of youth hockey development from 6U first-day beginners, to our oldest age groups competing at the highest national levels. We are thrilled to join forces with the NYC Skyliners + NYC Hockey Club families on this venture. 

North Park would not be the program it is today without your support of the Annual Appeal. We are filled with gratitude for your continued generosity, which has ensured the response to requests for additional programming can always be “Yes.” “Yes” we should secure that extra sheet of practice ice. “Yes” our practices will be fully staffed with high level professional coaches. "Yes” we should sign up for that extra tournament. “Yes” we should join that new league. And, "Yes” we will roster that child whose family needs tuition assistance.    

As a 501(c)(3) volunteer-run not-for-profit, North Park has no overhead or margin. Your tuition goes directly to the programming for our children, on and off the ice. In addition, we work hard to ensure tight rosters, allowing each child to enjoy optimal ice time. Your contributions to the Annual Appeal are crucial to building the cushion to fund the “Yes.”

NP Squirt Black Wins 2024 Congressional Cup Midwinter Classic in Washington D.C.

Squirt Black secured the champion title over MLK weekend at the MyHockey Congressional Cup Midwinter Classic in Washington D.C., battling it out in a PeeWee division. Forced into a higher age bracket due to tournament scheduling issues, Coach Trevor Ion led the team to victory over teams two years older and often much larger in size. In their second game, down two goals with less than two minutes to play, the team rallied to secure a 4-4 tie and clinched a spot in the semifinals. In a show of tremendous fortitude, the Squirt Blacks recovered from a Sunday night loss to the Hamden Dragons (3-5) to beat them in a rematch in the semis, winning 5-3, marching on to the finals. They proceeded to take down the Piedmont Predators for the Championship, earning a 6-1 victory, through a culmination of elegant passing, strong breakouts, relentless defense and sharp goaltending. It was a memorable weekend of resilience, teamwork and strength in our nation’s capital.

12U Peewee Green 2012 Wins MLK CANAM Challenge Cup

PeeWee Green 2012 triumphed over MLK weekend at the CANAM Challenge Cup in Annapolis, MD, defeating the Maryland Junior Black Bears 3-1 in the Championship game. Despite a narrow 3-2 Loss to the same Black Bears team in the first game, they made a dramatic comeback in their second game, erasing a 4-2 deficit in the final five minutes to secure a tie. This momentum carried them to victory in their final round robin game, earning a spot in the championship and a rematch against the Bears. The team's speed, grit, and teamwork enabled them to overcome opponents who were generally older, bigger, and more physical. Congratulations to PeeWee Green 2012 on winning the gold medal at the CANAM Challenge Cup MLK Tournament!

10U Squirt Blue Champions of 2024 CCM Boston Invitational

North Park Squirt Blue are Champions of the 2014 Jetspeed Division at the 2024 CCM MLK Weekend Invitational in Boston. The Blue team led by coaches Robert Kucera and Clint Murray won 5 of 6, with wins coming against 2014 Tier 1 competition including Mid Fairfield 2014 AAA, Boston Advantage 2014 AAA, and NJ Colonials 2014 AAA which North Park defeated 2-0 in the Final.

It was an awesome display of skill, grit and determination, as Squirt Blue swarmed their opponents from the opening face off with relentless forechecking and backchecking, crisp, creative passing, lightning fast breakaways, perfect execution of set plays and timely top shelf snipes. All players from top to bottom of the lineup contributed on the scoresheet, and the MVP goaltender had a phenomenal 1.16 goals against average for the tournament.

It was a truly fun and memorable experience for players and families of this special team.
